Compilation of the library collection

The library collection is the main source of meeting the information needs of the academic staff, postgraduate students, students and university personnel. It is the basis for the library functioning. The process of compiling the library collection (LC) includes the following stages: creation, continuous development and maintenance in proper condition. The main ways to ensure the compliance of LC is the acquisition of documents according to the profile of the education institution.

In addition to current compilation (replenishment of the library collection with newly introduced documents), the library uses all kinds of retrospective compilation (replenishment of the library collection with titles and copies of past years).

At the very beginning, the Educational and scientific library was provided with collections of educational institutions and public organizations, private libraries of Ukrainian scientists, duplicate copies from other university libraries. 

Besides, the library collection is replenished from the exchange and reserve collections of libraries of higher education institutions based on cooperation agreements.
